Battery repair

This is possible and depends on the problem.

1. Did your battery suddenly stop working ? Sudden failure may indicate a bad electrical connection in the battery. E.g. a spot weld that is interrupted and caused by vibration.
   A possible other cause could be a defect in the battery’s BMS (battery management system).
   If so, chances are we can fix it for you.

   The cost of such repair comes to a few tens of euros and is justifiable compared to the price of a new battery.

2. Your battery is no longer charging ? If the battery has not been used for a long time then the BMS may go into protection to protect the cells in the battery from undercharging.

   In that case, we can check and reactivate your battery for a low price.

3. Your battery dies quickly ? This can have several causes. If the battery is older than 2 years then it may be at the end of its service life. This of course depends on the quality of the battery. More expensive batteries with A-brand cells from e.g. Samsung, LG or Panasonic can last up to 5 years without any problems. With standard e-steps that are in a price range between 300 and 400 Euro, the average lifespan is 2 years.

   You can have the cells of the battery renewed but this is a high cost because of the many working hours and we do not recommend this. If the price for a repair is higher than 50% of the price of a new battery then you better buy a new battery.
